What is Artickles?

Little handmade artworks — a painted stone, a tiny carving, a decorated tag — go out into the world carrying a sticker code. Someone finds one, scans it to say hello, sees everywhere it's travelled on a map, and passes it on. The journey keeps going, and you get to watch it happen.

How it works

1
Scan the code

Found a little artwork out in the world? Scan the sticker on it, or type the code into the site.

2
Follow its journey

See every place it's been on a map — where it started and everywhere it's turned up since.

3
Pass it on

Leave a friendly note, then hide it again or hand it to someone. Off it goes on the next leg.

You don't need an account to find a piece and follow its journey — just the code. Explore the map to see what's out there right now.

Keeping it safe

Artickles started as a project for two kids, so safety is built in, not bolted on:

  • Locations are always shown as a rough area, never an exact spot — so finding a piece never reveals where someone lives or stood.
  • Photos are of the artwork, never of people, and every note left on a piece is checked by a person before it appears.
  • Children take part through a parent or guardian, who manages everything — kids don't have their own sign-in.
  • A real person is one reply away at safety@artickles.me.

Can I make my own?

That's the plan! Making and registering your own pieces is invite-only right now while we finish getting a few things ready — including the parental consent and privacy pieces we want to get right before families join.

If you'd like to take part, say hello at hello@artickles.me and we'll let you know when sign-ups open. Already have an invite code?
